Ceremony to swear-in of the New President and Board of Directors of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce

(San Juan, Puerto Rico July 16, 2021) The Chamber of Commerce of Puerto Rico (CCPR) carried out the swearing-in of its new president Luis A. Gierbolini Rodríguez, as well as the new Board of Directors for the period 2021-2022. The swearing-in was in charge of the director of Legal and Legislative Services of the CCPR the Lcda. Liza Garcia, and the event was held last Thursday, July 15 at the Caribbean Hilton. During his swearing-in message, Gierbolini Rodríguez highlighted the important role that the Chamber of Commerce of Puerto Rico must assume to promote a true business culture in the country and promote its productivity at all levels; aspects to which you wish to give emphasis in your presidency.

“We need to unite Puerto Rico in a common vision of a country. At a time when Puerto Rico’s fiscal and economic situation has been aggravated by the Covid-19 pandemic, we all need to do our part to tackle the loss of jobs and the growing contraction of our economy. The responsibility is shared,” said Gierbolini Rodriguez, who indicated that he intends to turn the Chamber into a uniting entity for the discussion of ideas that promote the country’s competitiveness among all sectors.

About thirty entrepreneurs make up the new Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce of Puerto Rico, whose Executive Committee will be composed of Ms. Georyanne Ríos of HR Unlimited Solutions LLC as first vice president; Ms. Teresita Santiago Lebrón of El Morro Technologies, Inc. as second vice president; Dr. Jeannette Vázquez Berríos of Creative Skills Enterprise, Inc. as third vice president; Ms. Juan Carlos Agosto Martínez of Supermercados Econo, immediate former president; Mr. Cameron McKenzie of McKensie & Associates, LLC, President-elect; Mr. Freddy Castejón of WorCaps Working Capital Solutions, LLC as treasurer; Ms. Alma Aldarondo Alfaro of the Cidreña Credit Union as secretary; Lcda. Margaret Ramírez Báez de Ramírez & Báez Law Offices as a member; on behalf of the Affiliated Associations, Ms. Aysha Issa, president of the Association Made in Puerto Rico; CPA David A. Rodríguez Ortiz of Sageza LLC and former president of CCPR, chairman of the Council of Former CCPR Presidents; as Advisors to the President the CPA Luis J. Torres Llompart of Alvarado Tax & Business Advisors; Ms. Joanellis Fernández de Kevane Grant Thornton LLP and former CCPR President José E. Ledesma Fuentes; and Ms. Sharon Ferrer, acting executive director of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce.

During the event, the new members of the 2021-2022 CCPR Board of Directors were also sworn in as a result of the votes that concluded on June 25, 2021. They are as follows:
